An other special guest is the actor Sebastiano Somma, who will present a short film “Don’t forget Mostar” dedicated to the victims of the Yugoslavia’s wars.

The Quality Jury evaluating the short films in competition will include the actress and dubber Rossella Izzo and the dubber Luigi La Monica, the director Vito Palmieri, and journalist Tommaso Chimenti.

This year there are seven European film academies that have shared goals and are working together actively to develop the project. The section dedicated to the emerging filmmakers of the European academies has seen the beginning of his collaboration with:

  • Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (Slovakia);
  • Polish National Film Television and Theatre School (Poland);
  • Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (Slovenia);
  • ENS Louis Lumière (France);
  • The Konrad Wolf Potsdam-Babelsberg Film and Television University (Germany);
  • Escola Superior de teatro e cinema (Portugal);
  • National Film and Television School Beaconsfield Studios (United Kingdom)

On the evening of August 6th, in “Piazza Plebiscito” it will be possible to view the short film winner of the section of the European film academies. Do not miss it!

Several submissions already received but remember: the deadline to submit your application to run for the 1.000€ prize is June 1st, 2011.

60 days will be spent to select the short films that will be screened during the nights of the festival in Noci (BA) in August.

What are you waiting for? Submit your short film now! Fiction, documentaries, docu-fiction, animations and others are the genres allowed to the contest.

Few tips for your short movie:

  • Is your short film longer than 30 mins? Give it a cut…30 minutes is the maximum length allowed!
  • Have you shot your film during 1957?!? Sorry, you missed your chance. We select films produced only after January 1st, 2009.
  • Have you already submitted your film to 14378 festivals?!? Don’t worry, Nocicortinfestival will be the 14379th contest for your film! Don’t give it up…The odds are on your side!
  • Have you produced too much in the last two years and you don’t know what film to submit? You can send us up to 3 films and the Nocicinema jury will help you select one of them!
  • And if your movie doesn’t speak Italian…help out the international distribution of your film and attach the transcipts of english dialogues to your submission to the DVD copy of your short film.

“For its subtle irony with which he portrays the Italian political world, for the freshness of Gerry’s character  and for its solid TV structure … Trusting that the series and characters development will measure up to the pilot episode”.

With this recognition, the quality jury – including screenwriter Luca De Benedittis, producer Tommaso Arrighi, director & writer David Casals-Roma and director Gianluca Sportelli – has announced the award for “Principi e Peones” by Marco Marchionni and Roberto Menotti. The winners attended with four other finalists the Award ceremony of “Serial Writer”, the first screenplay competition for TV series launched by the association Nocicinema.
The event saw active participation from the audience plunged into the outstanding performance of the duet Cinemù Duo (aka Francesco Leineri- piano and Giuseppe Mortelliti- narrating voice). The artists put on stage a musical reinterpretation of famous monologues from some excellent cinema classics.
The 5 shortlisted finalist scripts are:
  • “A providential disaster” by Marco Poli
  • “ Bar condicio” by Fratelli Bolivar
  • “ I tre piatti della bilancia” by Francesco Grasso
  • “ La sfida del Minotauro” by Luca Sotgiu
  • “ Principi e Peones” by Marco Marchionni and Roberto Menotti
