The 4th edition of NociCortinfestival was a resounding success: we had our largest audience yet, hundreds of short films were submitted by filmmakers from around the world, numerous directors and actors enriched the proceedings with their active participation, and films dealing with the year’s special theme focusing on the environment raised our awareness of issues of fundamental importance to all of us. All this, plus the incomparable beauty of summer evenings in Apulia, made the 4th edition of NociCortinfestival a truly memorable moment in the lives of all those who attended.

Of the 16 shorts in competition, the prize for the Best Italian Short Film went to director Gianluca Sportelli with “Nonsostare”, while “Basket Bronx” by the Spanish director Martin Rosete won Best Foreign Short Film. The Critic’s Prize was awarded to Sam Donovan of England, while the short “El mueble de las foto” by director Giovanni Maccelli won the City of Noci People’s Prize.

The jury was formed by Angelo Orlando (director, actor and scriptwriter), Salvatore Marino (actor and a well-known personality in the Italian television), Pippo Mezzapesa (director), Michela Ventrella (journalist for the “Corriere del Mezzogiorno”), and Monica Ricco (representative of “Legambiente Bari”). Marino Spilotros (director of the “Legambiente di Bari”) awarded the prize for the section “Ecoland”, dedicated to films dealing with environmental themes, to the short film “Peace” by Turkish director Tolga H. Yuceil. Honorable mention went to Vito Palmieri for his short “Se ci dobbiamo andare andiamoci”.
