The prize for the “Ciak! Si ride” section, reserved to comic works, has gone to the ironic short film “Las Pelotas” directed by Chris Niemeyer.
A Special Mention has been assigned to “Oggi gira così” directed by Sydney Sibilia.

The audience of the Festival declared winner of the “Città di Noci Prize” the short film 41, directed by Massimo Cappelli.

The winner of the “Short of[f] Prize”, for the section dedicated to independent and low cost works, is “Slim Pickings Fat Chances”, directed by David de Rooij and Jelle Brunt.

A special Jury, composed by the high school’s students, declared as winner of the “Student Prize” the short film “Il mio ultimo giorno di guerra” directed by Matteo Tondini.

In the Fifth Edition of the Nocicortinfestival, Nocicinema association will start a partnership with the prestigious Beijing Film Academy. The Beijing Film Academy is internationally recognized as one of the most vital institutes devoted to the art of film. The Beijing Film Academy is the biggest school of cinema in Asia, and every year it attracts students from around the world. Among its graduates students we remember famous directors as Zhang Yimou and Chen Kaige.

In the Fifth Edition of NociCortinfestival we will present a program with the best works of the students from the Academy. The works will be introduced by a delegation from the Academy that will travel to Noci to attend the Festival.

Through a wide variety of styles and genres, the works of the students in the program will offer a unique window on the future of the Chinese cinema.

NociCortinfestival was created with the intent of promoting the short film as an art form and as a powerful means of communication and exchange.

For five years the festival has provided a forum for both established and emerging film makers from around the world, bringing artists together with an enthusiastic public to experience and celebrate film as a medium for the exploration of personal visions and universal aspirations, the comedy and tragedy of our individual and collective life.

If you have a film to show, we encourage you to participate. First prize is 1.000 euros, and entering a film is free.

If your dream is to write about characters, places, and stories for a television show…. If you are interested in putting your best ideas to the test , this is your chance!

The Nocicinema association is announcing a screenplay contest for the pilot episode of a television series.

The contest is for amateur and professional television writers. Participation is free.  Please provide scripts written in either Italian or English.

In addition to the screening of short films, the event included theatrical sketches, celebrity guests, and musical performances. The festival took place in Piazza Pebliscito in the heart of the historical centre of Noci. A large audience from across the region attended the festival. After the screening of the 16 short films, winners were chosen both by the official panel of judges and by the audience. The prize for Best Italian short- film went to Nonsostare, starring Paolo Sassanelli and directed by the Gianluca Sportelli from Gioia del Colle.

The prize for the Best foreign short film went to Martin Rosete’s Basket Bronx filmed in Spain and in the United States. The critic’s choice prize went to Hammerhead, a short film from England directed by Sam Donovan. The “Città di Noci” prize, awarded by the audience, went to El mueble de las fotos by the Italian director Giovanni Maccelli.

On the judge’s panel: director, actor and screenwriter Angelo Orlando, actor Salvatore Marino, director Pippo Mezzapesa, journalist Michela Ventrella of the Corriere del mezzogiorno and Monica Ricco representative of Legambiente Bari, Marino Spilotros, coordinator of Circolo Legambiente Bari awarded the short film Peace by Turkish director Tolga H.Yuceil with the special “Ecoland prize” for the best film dealing with an environmental issue.

Special mention went to Se ci dobbiamo andare andiamoci by Vito Palmieri from the municipality of Noci.
